Come and see it for yourself.
At Leweston, we build the person rather than the profile, curious, resilient, and ready for a world that cannot be predicted. The best way to understand what that means in practice is to come and see it.
Book a personal visit and you will meet the Headmaster, walk the campus, and see the school as it actually is on an ordinary day. Most families leave saying they had no idea Leweston was like this.
What to Expect
- Meet the Headmaster — time to talk about your child and what matters to your family.
- Tour the campus — fifty acres, the boarding houses, equestrian, classrooms in use.
- Meet relevant staff — academic, pastoral, or co-curricular depending on your child's interests.
- Talk to admissions — fees, next steps, and any questions answered before you leave.
Allow around ninety minutes. If you are further afield, we can arrange a virtual meeting instead. Vera Ixer, our Admissions Registrar, will confirm your visit personally.
Known from the beginning
At Leweston, every teacher knows every pupil, not just academically but as a person. When something is not right, someone notices. When something is about to go very right, someone says so. That is not a pastoral care system. It is simply what happens when a school functions as a community rather than an institution.
The academic programme is genuinely rigorous. Results here are the outcome of something, not the point of it. The point is that by the time a Leweston pupil sits an examination, they know how to think under pressure, how to organise an argument, and how to produce their best work rather than simply their safest.

Questions families often ask
What makes Leweston different from other independent schools?
Most schools describe what they have. Leweston describes what it produces, a person who knows their own mind, can recover from difficulty, and is genuinely ready for whatever comes next.
Is Leweston suitable for both day and boarding pupils?
How does Leweston support individual academic and pastoral needs?
Our teachers know each pupil personally, providing tailored support both academically and pastorally. We focus on effort, progress and resilience, ensuring every pupil is challenged appropriately and feels known, heard and supported.
What opportunities are there outside the classroom?
Leweston offers a vibrant co‑curricular life, including:
- sport and outdoor pursuits
- arts, music and drama
- pentathlon and equestrian
- clubs and activities running before and after the formal school day
Every pupil is encouraged to explore new interests and develop existing talents.
