Come and see what Leweston is really like
Join us for an afternoon of activities and conversations — children try something they love, parents meet the people behind the school.
Friday 19 June 2026 · 1.00pm to 4.00pm · Leweston School, Sherborne
Experience Leweston is a chance to see the school as it actually is — not a formal open morning, but a working afternoon where children take part in real activities alongside Leweston's own staff and pupils.
While your child tries something new, you'll have time to talk to the Headmaster, hear from our academic and pastoral teams, and walk around a school that's been quietly doing things differently for decades.
It's the kind of afternoon where families often say: we just wanted to have a look, and leave knowing it's the right place.
How the afternoon works
Two things happen at the same time. Children choose one activity from our programme and spend the afternoon doing it, led by the member of staff who runs it every day. Parents join us for talks from the Headmaster and senior team, a tour of the school, and time to talk to whoever they want informally, over tea.

Who is this for?
Experience Leweston is open to all families, whatever stage your child is at, from Reception through to Sixth Form entry. Whether you're just beginning to explore your options or are close to making a decision, this is a good afternoon to come. If your child is currently in Year 5 and you're thinking about Year 7 entry in September 2027 or Year 9 in 2029, this is a particularly well-timed visit but families at every stage tell us it was worth the afternoon.
A word about Leweston
Leweston is an independent co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 3 to 18, set in 50 acres of Dorset countryside just outside Sherborne. We're small enough that everyone knows each other, and different enough to ensure that everyone thrives here.
We're one of only a handful of schools in the country designated as a GB Modern Pentathlon Talent Hub. Our equestrian programme is BHS Approved and nationally recognised. And we've been quietly producing confident, kind, independent young people for over a century.
Come and see for yourself.
