Frequently Asked Questions
Who can apply for a Leweston scholarship?
Scholarships are open to both current and prospective students who meet the eligibility criteria for each category. We welcome applications from families who share our values and are seeking a supportive, high-achieving school environment.
What is the value of a scholarship?
Scholarships offer a fixed discount on the fees ranging from £1500 to £3500 per annum. For applicants requiring additional support means-tested bursaries may be available. Please contact mullettc@leweston.dorset.sch.uk for more information and a bursary application form.
How are scholarship candidates assessed?
Assessment varies by scholarship type. Academic applicants may sit exams and attend interviews; creative and sporting candidates may be asked to audition, present a portfolio, or demonstrate their skills. All shortlisted applicants will be invited to a scholarship assessment day. Detailed information is available in the scholarship guidelines.
Can I apply for more than one scholarship?
No. Scholars are expected to make a meaningful contribution to school life and their chosen discipline. For this reason, candidates may apply for only one scholarship area. This also ensures that talented pupils are not overloaded by multiple demands.
What happens after a scholarship is awarded?
Scholarship holders are expected to contribute positively to school life and uphold the values of Leweston. Progress is reviewed annually, and continued support is subject to sustained performance and engagement.
