Sixth Form presents new opportunities and challenges and, at Leweston, we will support and encourage you to achieve your goals and realise your potential.
There is a strong work ethic and we are proud of the achievements of all our students. The two years spent in Sixth Form mark the transition between school and going on to college, university, taking a GAP year or entering employment. We offer a broad and enriching curriculum with access to facilities that include art studios, design and technology workshops, laboratories, drama, music rooms and recording studio, sports and ICT. As well as exploring new areas of knowledge, perhaps in new subjects, there are opportunities for leadership and involvement in the community. You will learn to work in teams, help others and to take on responsibility.
Our Sixth Form community aims to be inclusive and supportive of everyone. Life-long friendships are made here and sustained in years to come. It is an exciting time and the decisions, plans and ideas you make will forge your future ahead. Our Sixth Formers leave us as independent young people equipped to thrive and lead in the world.

Our curriculum
With a choice of 20 different subjects and two different qualification types Leweston has lots of offer. Most students take three subjects which combined with the enrichment programme, provides a breadth and depth of learning. As far as possible we allow students to choose any combination of subjects. We are happy to advise if a student has a particular university course or career in mind.
Excellent Results
Leweston has an excellent academic record with students achieving some of the best Sixth Form results in the region.
Leavers Destinations
Every year Leweston students win places at the UK’s top universities but what is most important to us is that everyone finds a pathway to fit their ambitions and aspirations. Since 2016 Leweston students have gone to 60 different higher education destinations to study a wide variety of courses. The two most popular course ‘families’ are Science, Maths and Engineering, and Social Sciences.
Sixth Form Boarding
Many students board for the first time in the Sixth Form to take advantages of the benefits of being onsite. Boarding helps to form strong relationships with the tutors and academic staff in the Houses, it supports 'out of hours' access to a wide range of facilities and can also make accessing evening academic and extra-curricular activities easier. It also helps to develop independent living skills in preparation for the move to life at university and the world beyond school.
There are lots of different ways to board in Sixth Form ranging from one night a week to all seven. Leweston also offers a Sixth Form Boarding Scholarship to students joining boarding for the first time.
